Donna Noble was about to get married when she was transported into the Doctor's TARDIS, much to the Doctor's surprise.
At first Donna thought that she'd been kidnapped, blaming her friend Nerys before she discovers that she is at the centre of an alien plot.
While the Doctor tries to get Donna to her wedding on time, Roboform mercenaries track her down and attempt to take her to the Empress of the Racnoss.
It takes Donna a while to trust the Doctor, but together they defeat the Racnoss threat.
The Doctor asks Donna to travel with him, she decides against it and watches him leave but has she changed her mind since...

Martha Jones is a 23 year old medical student. Training to be a doctor at the Royal Hope Hospital when she first bumps into the Doctor; her hospital is the centre of a Judoon mission to track down an alien - and Martha suddenly finds herself transported to the moon. Brave and calm, the Doctor notoces Martha's ability to adapt to dangerous situations as soon as he meets her - and as a reward for saving his life, he offers her one trip in the TARDIS. That one trip becomes a series of exciting adventures before the Doctor admits she is much more than a passenger, and gives her the key to the TARDIS and a phone with universal roaming.
Martha loves the Doctor, but finds it difficult living with his sadness at losing Rose. After saving the Earth from the Master, Martha decides to leave the TARDIS but tells the Doctor he must call her if he needs her...

Nothing was ever the same for shop assistnat Rose Tyler after she met a man who called himself the Doctor. He took her off into space and time after she helped defeat the Nestene Conciousness. Together they had many adventures and fought many evils. Rose grew to love the Doctor deeply. He respected her courage and friendship and showed her a better life - one where you make a stand for the things you believe in.
After the Doctor regenerated, Rose dealt with it and still wanted to travel with him - enjoying evey minute - until they were seperated during the battle with the Cybermen and the Daleks. Rose found herself trapped on an alternate Earth without her beloved Doctor...

Captain Jack Harkness comes from the 51st Century - and is a long way from home when he tries to sell the Doctor and Rose a crashed spaceship in 1940s London. A former Time Agent, he woke up on morning and found that the Agents had stolen two years of his life. The reasons for this are unknown. Jack is exterminated by the Daleks, but is brought back to life by Rose when she has the power of the Vortex running through her. He heads back to Earth on his own using his Vortex Manipulator and is stranded there when the device breaks.
Jack meets the Doctor and Martha when the TARDIS is refuelling in Cardiff. Although Jack can age he is unable to die, and interestingly, when he first became a Time Agent his nickname was The Face Of Boe...

Car mechanic Mickey Smith wasn't the bravest of the Doctor's friends, but he went on to become a defender of the Earth. As Rose's boyfriend he was loyal and dependable - but Rose had grown slightly bored of him and found it easy to leave him behind to go travelling in Time and Space. He hated that some strange man in a time machine had come along and taken his best friend away, but gave up the chance to travel with the Doctor and Rose when he was eventually asked. However after battling the Krillitanes with the Doctor and meeting up with Sarah Jane Smith Mickey decided he wanted to see what he was missing and joined them. He wasn't travelling for very long before he decided to stay behind on the parallel Earth where he was needed to help defeat the Cybermen...

Jounalist Sarah Jane first met the third Doctor when she was working as an undercover reporter to get a story. To start with she thought that the Doctor was a baddie! But they soon became form friends and Sarah and the Doctor had many exciting adventures togeher. Until the Doctor left Sarah on Earth when he was summoned back to his home planet and never came back for her. Sarah was stunned to meet the tenth Doctor many years later, when she was once more investigating a story, and was soon caught up in the fight against the Krillitanes. Although the Doctor invited Sarah to travel with him again she decided thather place was on Earth, but no matter what Sarah will always occupy a very special place in the Doctor's heart...
